Dumfries and Galloway College has partnered with Think Partnership Ltd to offer a Certificate in Essentials of Sustainable Business Growth. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a CMI Level 3 Certificate in Management & Leadeship. They will also gain the essential knowledge and skills to integrate environmental and social responsibility into everyday business practices—key components for long-term financial success and organisational resilience.

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required to enrol in the CMI Level 3 Certificate in Management and Leadership – Essentials of Sustainable Business Growth. However, it is expected that you will be contributing to a current sustainability project, as this will enable you to effectively contribute sustainability principles that are covered in the course.

Unit 311 – contributing to the Delivery of a Project

This unit focuses on providing managers with the knowledge, tools, and techniques needed for effective project management and monitoring. While the scale, importance, and complexity of projects may differ, the core principles of managing them remain consistent. It also explores strategies for handling risk and addressing the needs and expectations of stakeholders. The skills gained from this unit will not only enhance a manager’s individual work practices but also contribute to the successful achievement of project outcomes.

312 – Managing Daily Activities to Achieve Results
Efficiency is crucial for a business to stay competitive, and a well-organized workload is vital for both individual and team success. This unit is designed to provide managers with the knowledge to identify priorities and establish measurable objectives. Managers will learn how to organize and assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and address issues in a practical way that supports the achievement of desired results.

313 – Developing and Sharing Good Practice
Developing and sharing best practices allows individuals and organizations to enhance their potential and exceed both personal and organisational expectations. This unit examines how good practices can be developed, maintained, implemented, and shared with stakeholders.

Six areas covered by Think Partnership:

· Introduction to sustainable principles

· Net Zero and Carbon

· Circularity

· Social Value & Community wealth building

· Reporting and ESG

· Nature positive business

Each area will have a focus on human, operational and commercial impact.

Assessments

Assessment for each unit is based on written assignments, reflecting on practical work-based scenarios to ensure learning is applied effectively. There are no exams, making it a manageable way to gain a qualification while working.
