Administration of Medication PDA @ SCQF Level 7
Introduction
You must be currently working in an area where you are supervised. It is likely you work in a residential or hospital setting or in the community. Gaining a qualification at this level (which is the same level as HNC or 1st year of a degree) is challenging, the majority of your learning will be online, with observation on your practical element at your workplace.

This is an online programme starting and would be expected to take 18 weeks to work through the learning materials and practical elements. You may be able to work your way through everything at a faster rate depending on your workplace and available time to study.

Course Content
The award consists of two units which are heavily integrated. One is a practical SVQ and the other is a theoretical unit.
Assessments
Likely to be one essay of around 2500 words and an observation of administration of medications.
Progression
You may wish to go on to study one of our appropriate HNC courses. You may already have other qualifications which could lead you to apply to university. You may be able to apply for promotion within your workplace or with another employer.
Career Prospects
Potential to become a grade 3 or grade 4 HCSW, Senior Carer or similar within the health and social care sector.
