BA Business Management @ SCQF Level 9


Dumfries & Galloway College has partnered with the University of West of Scotland (UWS) to offer you the third year of the Management BA programme.


Years one and two are through the College’s HNC/D programmes, with year three being delivered at Dumfries & Galloway College through a blended delivery model.


In year one you will complete Business HNC, year two Business HND, and in year three in partnership with UWS, you will draw on all your existing learning to better your understanding of management principles and practises to improve your organisation’s performance to complete your degree. 

This programme is for if you are looking to study management or are a professional looking to take the next step in your career or are an existing manager wishing to develop and achieve formal recognition of your skills and experience. 

You can become an associated student of both UWS and D&G College starting at Senior Phase whilst still at school or join at a level of Business study.




4-8 years depending on mode of study and level of entry.  Year 3 is full time only, 1 ½ days per week blended delivery.

Entry Requirements

Entry for years one and two please see HNC/HND Business. 

Entry for year 3, an HND Business or related subject.

We welcome all Scottish, UK and International students and consider all applicants on an individual basis. 

For applicants whose first language is not English, the University sets a minimum English Language Proficiency level.

Information and Interview Session Requirements

Interviews for Years 1 & 2 will take place through the College, interview for 3rd year will take place in alignment with the university application procedure.

Course Content

Theoretical knowledge from previous learning will continue to be built upon with an emphasis on strategic level issues of organisations.  You will apply your knowledge and skills in specific organisational environments.


The overall assessment strategy ensures that a coherent balance of assessment is in place and that assessment supports employability and other complex learning intentions.  In real terms this means you will study a mixture of assessment formats such as presentations, management reports, feasibility plans and business plans.


You can continue with your degree to honours level with UWS.

Recent graduates are working with some of the biggest names in business such as RBS, Ford and IBM.
