This course is an excellent stepping-stone into the tyre fitting and motor vehicle industry.
This qualification is designed to provide the skills required for entry to the tyre fitting industry, the motor trade or to allow progression into higher level motor vehicle courses at the College. This covers the basic technical elements required within the above and provides a mix of practical skills as well as some theory.
This will be a full time course up to three days per week from August to June.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but you will be required to attend an interview session via Microsoft Teams or phone.

Once we have received your application you will asked to attend an informal information and interview session. This may be virtual either through TEAMS or by phone but remember to tell us all about yourself in your personal statement!
This is a key aspect of the application process. You must confirm your attendance should you be offered an information and interview session.
During the informationand interview session, we will ensure the entry requirements and your aspirations and career plan are appropriate for the course and the level of course you have applied for. It is therefore important that you prepare well for this.
The course covers practical skills around tyre fitting and the skills associated with steering systems. Structured around a selection of both knowledge and skills based tasks this course will be valued by employers looking to appoint employees in this industry.
Assessments are ongoing throughout the course duration and include completion of practical tasks as well as portfolio work and one online multiple choice assessment
Progression from this course could be into employment in the industry or to the Transport Maintenance course at the College.
Employment in the tyre fitting industry or as a Modern Apprentice in the motor vehicle industry.
