Introduction

This course is for those who would like to learn new skills at college and further their education.  It will equip you with knowledge and skills to reach your potential.  During the course you will have a chance to expand your skills and experience.   You will explore new training and career options.  Digital skills, study skills, how to tackle assignments, digital portfolios and next steps will form part of the course along with interview techniques and applying for further study.  You will be introduced to the different curriculum areas to understand what is involved in studying a particular subject area.  You will hopefully progress to further studies within the college after you have completed the 9 week course.

Information and Interview Session Requirements

Once we have received your application you will be asked to attend an informal information and interview session. This may be face to face or virtual through TEAMS or by phone but remember to tell us all about yourself in your personal statement.

This is a key aspect of the application process. You must confirm your attendance should you be offered an appointment. 

During the information and interview session, we will ensure that your aspirations and career plan are appropriate for the course and the level of course you have applied for. It is therefore important that you prepare well for this.

Assessments

There is no formal exam.  You will be required to undertake continual assessments throughout the year.  These will take the form of written, oral, team projects and role play.

Progression

You could progress to any level 5 course of student’s subject choice.
