Project Management Professional (PMP) – Virtual Classroom

Introduction

Course Overview

Training to earn your Project Management Professional (PMP®) qualification is a great way to improve your employability in this sector. PMP is one of the most well known and respected project management qualifications, with over one million project managers certified in this standard.

Designed by the Project Management Institute (PMI), this standard utilises the simple framework of project management used in other methods and adds a more process-driven approach to project management on top of this to ensure you will always get consistent results, no matter how big or small the project is. You will improve your employability and progress in your career by taking this PMP course and other project management courses.

Throughout the five-day PMP training course, you will gain all the knowledge and skills needed to become a licensed Project Manager. The PMBOK® guide is now in its sixth edition and showcases all 49 processes that are needed to implement a project effectively and increase the success rate of implementation. In addition, the qualification is known to increase salaries by up to 25%, according to PMI.

This qualification can progress your career by providing the following:

  • Creating a CV that stands out from the competition.
  • Gain the knowledge of a common language used the world over.
  • Huge demand for Project Managers that are PMP certified.
  • Take advantage of the amazing network opportunities as a member of PMI.

Suitability

Is the Project Management Professional (PMP) course suitable for me?

One of the primary reasons the PMP qualification is so different from any other project management courses is that experience in project management is a requirement before taking the exam. The PMI states that every PMP student needs to have at least 5-years’ experience in leading projects (if you have a degree then you only need 3-years’ experience), before taking the PMP exam.

The reason for this is to ensure that only the most experienced project managers can have this certification, making it a valuable qualification to have on your CV. After completing the exam, you will be eligible to have the letters PMP after your name.

As well as this, PMI has many communities around the world, called chapters, whose primary goal is to improve project management. These communities will help you with project delivery, templates, and once you succeed in the exam, the chapters can help you gain the 60 professional development units (PDUs) that are needed for you to maintain your PMP credentials.
