Our Open Doors Event Is Back For 2018

Tue 23rd Oct 12:10

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the College!

It’s that time of year again - applications for the 2019/20 academic year open on 22nd November 2018 and to coincide with this we are hosting our annual Open Doors event at both the Dumfries & Stranraer Campuses.

We will be throwing our doors open between 4-7pm and we invite you to join us and see what Dumfries & Galloway College can offer for your future.

Take a tour around the buildings to see the first class facilities on offer in all curriculum areas as well as the general college environment. Academic staff will also be on hand throughout the evening to have a chat and answer any questions you may have to help you make your final decision and submit your application.
Admissions, funding & student support staff will also be available to take you through the process of applying and what funding you may be eligible for to help support your studies at college.

Our Dumfries Campus will be a hub of activity with plenty going on in all corners of the College. Throughout the Curriculum areas, you can expect to see and be able to take part in activities run by each area to give you an idea of what each subject area involves. Keep an eye out here and on our Facebook page for details of activities on the night.

Due to popular demand, the Christmas Market will be returning this year to bring some festive spirit to the evening. Staff & students are busy crafting away to put on a great Christmas Market for you to enjoy – there will be cards, gifts, wreaths and plenty more washed down with some festive food and drink served at the Campus Kitchen.

Also at the Dumfries Campus, Dumfries Learning Town will be hosting their annual Careers Marketplace for borough schools pupils and parents. This is a great opportunity to meet with local employers and see what they have to offer you in a wide range of sectors and explore potential career pathways.

Our Stranraer Campus is also hosting their first Christmas Market this year. Join them along with staff, students and local businesses who are contributing to make their Christmas Market the first festive event in your calendar. You can expect cards, gifts, crafts and plenty of food to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Skills Development Scotland will also be present throughout the evening to discuss career routes and answer any questions you may have about your next move in life.
Details of all the evening classes will also be available and you can sign up for classes starting soon and take a peek at what’s to come over the year.
Staff at Stranraer will be there all evening to welcome you to the friendly, inviting Campus and see the great community feel built up there through the close knit team.
