Early Learning & Childcare: A Rewarding Career
Wed 28th Mar 12:03
As you may have seen in one of our previous news updates, the Scottish Government’s manifesto now includes a commitment to expand free Early Learning & Childcare by 2020.
This expansion will almost double the entitlement to funded early learning and childcare from 600 to 1140 hours per year by 2020 for all three and four year olds, as well as eligible two year olds.
With this extra commitment in place, the result is a need to recruit up to 11,000 additional Early Learning & Childcare professionals to help deliver this expanded service by 2020.
To support this movement, Dumfries & Galloway are doubling the number of nursery hours offered to pre-school aged children between now and 2020, which means there has never been a better time to train, or retrain for a career in the early years and childcare sector. This stable career choice well ensure a rewarding working life for anyone looking for an opportunity to develop themselves while enriching young lives.
We are recruiting motivated child-focussed, caring people to support our youngest children and families.
In a nutshell, as part of a team, you will make a real difference to children’s lives. Indoors and out, you’ll nurture young children and deliver stimulating learning opportunities, encourage children to use their imaginations, be creative, develop problem-solving skills, negotiate solutions and build relationships.
