College to Compete for International Environmental Award

The South of Scotland college has progressed to the international level after being crowned Sustainability of the Year for 2020 in the small institution category across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The college will compete against other similar institutions from the Philippines, UAE, Saudi Arabia, France, Mexico, Cyprus, Malawi, Zambia, and Uganda for the coveted award.
Winners will be announced on 7 July 2021 as part of the United Nations High Level Political Forum.
A total of 51 finalists from 23 countries will compete across five separate award categories during the finals which will have a real and strategic impact on the world’s mission to reach net zero emissions.
Dumfries and Galloway College is proud of its record of achievement in green skills and technology, including the recent launch of its ground-breaking Green Energy Hub and extensive range of educational opportunities with the green agenda at their core.
