EIS/FELA Lecturers’ Strike Action Planned For 20th and 21st April
19 April 2021
As our lecturers are not obliged to tell us if they are going out on strike in advance, we cannot confirm whether your lecturer will be at work. Our college campuses in Dumfries and Stranraer will remain open for restricted-blended learning throughout the strike action, although classes may not run. As our Lecturers are not obliged to tell us if they are going out on strike on any of the noted dates, we cannot confirm whether your Lecturer will be at work. This means we cannot confirm whether or not your class will run.
If your lecturer has confirmed to you they’ll be on strike, you should not attend our campuses. You’ll be able to access electronic resources on Microsoft Teams and LearnNet and you can use the time to catch up on preparation towards assessment or self-directed study.
If you come to our Dumfries or Stranraer campuses and find your class is cancelled, we’ll be able to accommodate you. We will have safe study spaces available for you to use and we will be following all COVID-19 protocols throughout, including maintaining 2-metre social distancing. Just speak to a member of our support staff for guidance or report to our campus reception in this case.
Further information is available on our lecturer strikes web page.
