Sixty Years of College in Dumfries: Send us your Stories

The college is asking anyone with personal stories about their time involved with Dumfries and Galloway College and its predecessors as part of the celebrations.

Those with a story to tell, be it an experience as a student or staff, passing through the college on their way to their career, or even a story about falling in love with their husband, wife, or civil partner while studying in Dumfries, should know that the college wants to hear from them.

Originally founded in 1961 as the then-Dumfries Technical College, Dumfries and Galloway College has grown over the last 60 years to become one of Scotland’s leading colleges and has helped thousands of students gain qualifications, skills, and experience throughout that time.

The college looks forward immensely to hearing from those who have contributed to college life over the last six decades and to celebrating this landmark anniversary with them.

“As we celebrate six decades of learning and teaching in Dumfries, we can enjoy the opportunity to take stock, appreciate where we have come from, and turn our eyes to the future and we invite everyone to join us in doing so.”
