Trans Day of Visibility Marked on Campus

9 May 2022

Dumfries and Galloway College staff have welcomed their colleagues and friends from D&G LGBT+ to their Stranraer campus for Rainbow Tea Party to mark Trans Day of visibility.

The event was also held to draw to a close the month-long DGC Together programme that has been on-going on campus.

DGC Together was a month-long set of activities and initiatives at the college aimed at promoting allyship within the college community.

Attendees reported thoroughly enjoying the event and reflecting upon it as a fitting and suitable way to mark Trans Day of Visibility as well as a fitting finale to DGC Together.

The college congratulates everyone involved in hosting all the events throughout DGC Together and reaffirms its commitment to promoting LGBT+ issues and equality.

Principal Joanna Campbell said:

“Dumfries and Galloway College values highly the contribution made by our trans staff and students to the life of our college and we were happy to stand with them during Trans Day of Visibility and DGC Together.”

“Equality, visibility, and breaking down the barriers that the LGBT+ community continues to face is important to us and we’ll do everything we can to promote these worthy causes”

“I would also like to thank my colleagues who have made these events possible.”
