What is the National Transition Training Fund?

Supported by the Scottish Funding Council and the Scottish Government, the NTTF funding is aimed at people aged 25 or over who are either facing redundancy or who are unemployed having been made redundant.

This fund is focused on upskilling tradespeople and helping individuals move into roles with potential for future growth and job retention.

We currently have the following fully-funded opportunities as part of the National Transition Training Fund:

Frequently Asked Questions About The National Transition Training Fund

To qualify for the training, you must:

  • Be aged 25 or over
  • Have been made redundant since 1 March 2021; or
  • Be at risk of redundancy

Please also note that training has to be completed and certified by 31 July 2022.

For some courses, there are academic pre-course requirements these have been highlighted under each course if applicable.

You should submit the following or at least provide a self-certification that you are either unemployed or facing the threat of redundancy.

  • Birth Certificate or other proof of age.
  • Certificates to show any pre-course academic requirements have been met.
  • Redundancy letter.
  • Any other evidence that employment is at risk e.g. letter from employer. 
  • Evidence from Job Centre.

You should have enrolled the training by an appropriate time to allow enough of a window to complete it by the deadline.

Only one course at a time that is Government Funded.
