As world leaders meet this week at COP30 to discuss taking action on climate change, South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) and Dumfries & Galloway College (DGC) have announced a new purpose-driven partnership.
The partnership aims to create practical and tangible solutions that will drive economic and environmental success for the region by utilising the strengths and assets of Scotland’s Natural Capital Innovation Zone.

Both SOSE and DGC will work together to identify growth areas which can benefit the college’s students and wider economy of Dumfries & Galloway.
The organisations will also share expertise and skills in an effort to position the region as one with huge but realistic aspirations.
SOSE Chief Executive Jane Morrison-Ross, said:
“Our businesses, communities, partners and people need to work together to achieve the sustainable economic future we all want for the South of Scotland.
“By strengthening our relationship with Dumfries & Galloway College through this new partnership, we will work towards our shared vision for economic and environmental successes, using the expertise both organisations have.”
Douglas Dickson, Principal and CEO at Dumfries and Galloway College, added:
“This partnership represents a powerful step forward for our region.
“By working closely with South of Scotland Enterprise, we can connect our students, staff, and communities directly to opportunities that drive innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth.
Dumfries and Galloway College is proud to play a leading role in developing the skills, technologies, and collaborations that will help unlock the South’s full potential as a hub for green energy, digital innovation, and natural capital.”
