Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions (TQUK)

Introduction

This qualification is designed to enhance the learner’s knowledge and understanding of:

A range of common health conditions
Monitoring the health of individuals affected by these conditions

The goal of this qualification is to provide learners, either currently working in or intending to work in adult health and social care, with a solid awareness of various common health conditions. Learners may choose to pursue further qualifications for a more detailed understanding of specific health conditions

Learners will have access to online learning platform.

During your time with the Dumfries & Galloway College, support is always available whenever you need it. Each learner is paired with a dedicated personal tutor who will grade all assignments and provide comprehensive feedback for every submission.

Entry Requirements

Suitable for those learners aged 16 or above and have a good level of communication skills.

When applying for this course you will be asked to supply a copy of your ID, which can be either a passport, driving licence, birth certificate or national identity card

You can only study one course at a time.

Course Content

Learers will complete 6 units of study in total as listed below:

  • Principles of monitoring health of indivudals affected by health conditions
  • Principles of cardiovascular disease
  • Stroke awareness
  • Arthiritis awareness
  • Understand physical disability
  • Parkinson’s disease awareness

Assessments

Learners will need to complete a series of tutor-marked assignments (typically one after each unit) as they move through the course. Each assignment will include a range of tasks and questions. These assignments are assessed by your tutor to track progress, and you will receive constructive feedback to support you in meeting the required standards for each unit.

There is no final exam, as the course is assessed through ongoing evaluation.
