Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 14 years old

  • Physical Ability: Must be able to perform practical tasks such as CPR and recovery positions

  • No prior qualifications required – open to all with an interest in first aid

Course Content

Learners will cover essential topics including:

  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider

  • Assessing an incident and managing an unresponsive casualty

  • CPR and safe use of an AED

  • Recovery position

  • Choking

  • Seizures

  • External bleeding and shock

  • Minor injuries (cuts, grazes, bruises, burns, scalds)

  • Accident reporting

Assessments

  • 5 Practical Assessments: Observed throughout the course by a qualified trainer

  • 1 Theory Assessment: Multiple-choice question paper under exam conditions
