Introduction
Elevate your future in Sport and Fitness
This full-time programme at SCQF Level 5 provides a strong foundation for those who are motivated to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence within the sport and fitness industry.
You will be introduced to a wide range of practical and academic learning experiences. Study at this level is intentionally challenging, and consistent commitment is essential. We have an experienced and supportive teaching team who will guide you throughout the course, but your success will depend on your engagement, attendance, and willingness to participate fully.
Employability is embedded throughout the programme. Regular attendance and active involvement in both practical and classroom-based learning are vital—not only for your academic progress but also to ensure continued eligibility for EMA or Bursary funding (where applicable).
You will participate in varied practical sessions and classroom activities, and you’ll develop your digital skills through regular use of Microsoft Teams for communication, learning, and assessment.
Whether your aspirations involve personal training, sports coaching, fitness instruction, or exploring other dynamic roles in the sector, this course provides a valuable first step toward a rewarding career.
Your journey starts here.

Applicants must declare any criminal convictions when applying. This is because you may be in settings with children and/or vulnerable adults. We want to ensure that every applicant can successfully complete the course and move into employment, so openness at the point of application is essential.
All students will undergo a PVG (criminal records check) to ensure you can progress within this industry and gain employment. If you are already ‘barred’ or ‘under consideration for listing’ we cannot legally offer you a place.
Current Dumfries & Galloway College students will require a positive progressing learner reference, successful completion of all the units on your current course and consistently have above 80% attendance as well as being fully engaged.
