Student COVID-19 update

Dear Dumfries and Galloway Student,

You will be aware that Scotland’s First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, identified some changes to guidance on the 7th of December due to a new strain of COVID-19.  We need to take action now and strengthen the measures we have in place.  I am asking that you: –

  • Wear a mask in College in line with Scottish Government guidance, unless of course you are mask exempt (lanyards to indicate this are available from reception)
  • Follow social distancing of 1 metre within all areas of the College.
  • Wash your hands or sanitise them in line with the guidance at the sanitising stations throughout the College.

A specific change that I ask that you do is to use a lateral flow tests before entering the College campuses.  Nicola Sturgeon identified that “we are asking everyone to do a lateral flow test before mixing with people from other households – and on every occasion you intend doing so”

Our aim is to keep our College campuses open, to continue blended (online and on campus) delivery and to do this we need you to work with us to help stop the spread of COVID_19 by following the guidance, above.

I thank you for your support.
