College for some students is a stepping stone into the pathway to university learning new skills to gain a fulfilling and successful career path. At Dumfries and Galloway College we have provided routes to universities gaining entry to their degree programmes.

Studying our HNC and HND courses gives you the option to join related courses at universities in the region. This will give you the chance to gain a full undergraduate degree while being able to stay in Dumfries and Galloway.


University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow has a campus in Dumfries, sharing our library (The Crichton Library) and gym facilities. With courses studied with us such as Social Services HNC, you can progress onto the University of Glasgow while continuing your studies within the region.


University of the West of Scotland

The University of the West of Scotland has a campus in Dumfries, sharing our library (The Crichton Library) and gym facilities. With courses studied with us such as Computer Science HND, you can progress onto the University of the West of Scotland while continuing your studies within the region.


The Open University

The Open University in Scotland (OU) works with Dumfries and Galloway College to create flexible opportunities to fit around students’ lives. Studying an HNC, HND, or other qualification here at Dumfries and Galloway college you can use as credit to progress onto an Open University degree.
