Introduction

It will be particularly useful to people who work in the sports & fitness industry, as well as those wishing to return to education or those preparing for work.
Engaging in regular physical activity provides numerous benefits. Beyond aiding weight loss and enhancing fitness, exercise can lower stress, enhance sleep, elevate quality of life, extend life expectancy and decrease the risk of heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers. Learners wishing to undertake the Award should be aged 14 or over.

Course Content
Candidates will be provided with course materials for the programme and will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the elarning process and demonstrate their knowledge.
The Level 1 Award in Exercise Studies comprises of 3 mandatory units:
Unit 01: Understand the principles of exercise and fitness
Unit 02: Demonstrate an understanding of safety factors realtingt o exercise
Unit 03: Apply the principles of a training programme
Each unit contains assessments and activities designed to cover the specific learning outcomes.
Assessments
Candidates will be required to produce a portfolio of work that demonstrates achievement of all learning outcomes.
