Introduction

BPEC Heat Pump NOS Mapped, is designed to give installers the skills and knowledge required to correctly install heat pumps. This course has been designed with the intention of meeting the requirements of the National Occupational Standards. This qualification is also recognised as a demonstration of competence for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

This course is intended for experienced heating engineers and installers who already hold a current/relevant heat pump qualification that has expired within the last year or due to expire.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must have a current Heat Pump System qualification and be able to provide evidence of this.

  • A full or provisional UK driving licence

Course Content

This course covers the same content as our BPEC Heat Pumps System course; however, the training will be reduced. You will recieve your handbook in advance of the course, you must read through this before the course.

The pre-course reading and training will cover the following:

  • Introduction to Heat Pumps
  • How a Heat Pump works – principles and components
  • Insulation, heat losses and the effect of heating system design
  • Domestic hot water, buffer tanks and solar coils
  • Ground heat exchangers
  • Health and safety
  • Heat pump Installation
  • Maintenance and fault finding

Assessments

Assessment consists of a combination of practical and theory examinations.
