Introduction
Understanding a Reablement Approach
This module introduces the principles and practice of reablement, an approach that focuses on helping individuals regain confidence, develop skills, and maintain independence in their daily lives. It is designed for those working in, or interested in working in, health and social care roles where supporting people to live as independently as possible is a key priority.
Throughout the module, learners will explore what reablement means, why it is important, and the positive impact it can have for individuals, families, and communities. The course also examines the role of the support worker in enabling people to achieve their reablement goals, including effective communication, collaboration with other professionals, and working in a person-centred and ethical way.
By the end of the module, learners will have a clear understanding of the principles of reablement and how support workers can empower individuals while promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
Learning is delivered remotely, online, with tutorial support available.
