Attendance:
Full Time 2 or 3 days per week, additional hours for work experience and attendance in the evening may be required.
Entry Requirements
- Three National 5 Awards or equivalent, or
- Successful completion of an SCQF Level 5 Sport & Fitness Programme, or
- Other qualifications and/or experience&#nbsp;
- Applicants whose first language is not English should have minimum ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses
Applicants must declare any criminal convictions when applying. While each case is considered individually, some convictions may mean you are unable to undertake activities or work in this sector, and we may not be able to offer you a place. This is because you may be in settings with children and/or vulnerable adults. We want to ensure that every applicant can successfully complete the course and move into employment, so openness at the point of application is essential.
All students will undergo a PVG (criminal records check) to ensure you can progress within this industry and gain employment. If you are already ‘barred’ or ‘under consideration for listing’ we cannot legally offer you a place.
Current Dumfries & Galloway College students will require a positive progressing learner reference, successful completion of all the units on your current course and consistently have above 80% attendance as well as being fully engaged.

It is important that you put effort into your application, using your own words. This allows us to ensure the entry requirements are met and your aspirations and career plans are appropriate for the course and the level of course you have applied for.

- Sport Development
- Sports Coaching/Leadership
- Reflection on your meta-skills development
- You’ll prepare for employment
- You’ll be given guidance on your chosen career path and potential for further study
- Your digital and IT skills will be developed using Teams

Assessments
Assessment is ongoing throughout the year and includes practical assessments and project work.
