BPEC Unvented Hot Water Systems

Introduction

This course is aimed at plumbers and heating engineers wanting to legally install, service or commission domestic hot water systems in Scotland.

The training course is very comprehensive and starts off with intensive training in the four modules, followed by the completion of three assessments.

The course references Part J of the Building Standards (Scotland) and consists of four modules:

  1. Unvented systems and their operating principles
  2. Design and installation
  3. Maintenance
  4. Compliance with other Building Regulations

There is one practical assessment involved in the course. Candidates must successfully pass all three assessments in order to gain the Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems – Installer Certificate (BPEC).

Entry Requirements

Hold a recognised trade qualification or is working towards one, or, has evidence of a number of years experience of working in the plumbing or heating industry.

Water ByLaws qualification is essential.

Ability to work on unvented hot water systems and solar thermal hot water systems.
