Introduction

This course is designed to help you develop skills and support your progression towards further study and work. The course aims to help you eliminate barriers to education by helping you develop personally, explore opportunities, develop relevant skills and decide on what your next steps will be.

Entry Requirements

  • No formal academic qualifications are required
  • If you have previously studied with us you will need have positive learner reference
  • You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to study at level 4
  • Successful interview
  • Successfully complete an introductory task
  • You will need to demonstrate a keen interest in the course and a sound understanding of what you want to achieve

Information and Interview Session Requirements

During your interview session, you will be expected to provide positive responses to questions relating to your course choice, your commitment, what your expectations are and your previous experiences.

Course Content

Your modules will cover subjects such as self-awareness, building resilience, health and nutrition, enterprise, work and employability skills.

Assessments

Assessment is ongoing throughout the year and includes practical assessments, written work and project work

Progression

Students could progress on to one of the college's wide range of programmes across curriculum subject areas.

Career Prospects

You will have acquired skills and qualities which are valued in employment. You could, therefore, undertake appropriate further vocational training in a range of career areas to develop your pathway to employment.
