SQA Award In Emergency First Aid At Work @ SCQF Level 6

Introduction

This SQA qualification is designed to provide an accredited and certificated award that will equip individuals with the skills and knowledge required to deal with a range of emergencies that require first aid in the work place.

This is a practical course, and is suitable for those who are:

  • ‘Appointed Persons’ in the workplace in organisations with comparatively low health & safety risks where there may not be a Certificated First Aider on site
  • for people whose jobs mean they move around from site to site or work in small groups
  • for self-employed and home based people.

This Health & Safety Executive (HSE), nationally recognised qualification, is valid for 3 years.

** If you require First Aid with Forestry – please advise at time of booking**

This course is a very practical course so you must be able to get up and down from the floor. Learners are expected to perform CPR on a manikin on the floor for a minimum of 2 minutes. Due to the nature of regulated first aid assessment, there will be a requirement to work in very close proximity with others.

Testimonial

“This is the first time I’ve actually enjoyed being a part of a first aid course. The trainer made it light and informative, and even covered how to administer first aid to children for me because I had asked. Thanks so much!”
