REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene (online)
Introduction
This ONLINE course is aimed at all food handlers and is recommended by the local Environmental Health Department.
This course work is to be completed fully online - with access to online materials. Candidates will be provided with an assessment date and time via Microsoft Teams (or an assessment can be arranged at one of campuses). It is essential that candidates can access the video conferencing platform - Microsoft Teams. An invite to the assessment will be emailed in advance.
REHIS E-learning is supported by internet explorer (version 8 +), google chrome or firefox, to be able to complete the course you will need access to one of the above.

The online REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene course covers the following:
- Introduction to Food safety
- Microbiological Hazards
- Food poisoning and its control
- Contamination hazards and control
- HACCP from delivery to service
- Personal Hygiene
- Food premises and equipment
- Food pests and control
- Cleaning and disinfection
- Food safety enforcement.
Assessments
A 30 minute exam to be undertaken under controlled conditions. This will be arranged using the video conferencing platform - Microsoft Teams. A working Webcam, microphone, speaker and good internet connection is essential. You will be sent an invite to the assessment via email in advance.
30 question multiple choice. You must achieve 60% to pass, i.e. minimum 18/30. Assessments will be marked, and if successful, a REHIS Certificate will be issued.
In order to be able to complete the assessments, you must have access to a laptop, pc with webcam, microphone and internet access. If you are using a device, such as smart phone or tablet, you will need 2 devices - 1 for invigilation via Microsoft Teams and the other to complete assessment.
