This online course equips learners with advanced accounting and tax skills for professional practice. It covers the following mandatory units:

  1. Applied Management Accounting (F/618/3591)

    • Develops skills in budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and management decision-making.

    • Learn to prepare and interpret management accounting reports to support strategic business decisions.

  2. Drafting and Interpreting Financial Statements (L/618/3593)

    • Prepare, analyse, and interpret financial statements for limited companies.

    • Understand financial reporting standards and the use of accounting software for statement preparation.

  3. Internal Accounting Systems and Controls (R/618/3594)

    • Examine accounting systems, internal controls, and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    • Learn to identify risks, implement controls, and support audit and assurance functions.

  4. Business Tax (Y/618/3595)

    • Gain knowledge of business taxation principles, including corporation tax, VAT, and payroll-related taxes.

    • Learn how to calculate, record, and report taxes in compliance with regulations.

  5. Personal Tax (D/618/3596)

    • Understand income tax, National Insurance, capital gains tax, and other personal taxation areas.

    • Learn to calculate tax liabilities and advise on personal tax planning within legal guidelines.

By the end of this course, learners will have a strong foundation in both professional accounting practices and tax management, enabling them to progress into senior finance roles or further professional qualifications.

Assessments

This qualification is assessed through computer-based, end-of-unit assessments. Each unit is tested individually, ensuring students develop both practical and theoretical accounting skills.

All assessments are:

  • Set and marked by AAT

  • Computer-based

  • Taken under controlled conditions via remote invigilation at home

Exams include multiple-choice questions, numerical calculations, and practical bookkeeping tasks that reflect real workplace scenarios.
