Introduction

A unique opportunity to provide young people with the skills and recognition to set them apart from the crowd. This programme is full of fun activities and is designed to help young learners develop a range of skills and behaviours in leadership, self-management and mentoring, alongside an appreciation of the benefits that can be gained through social action (volunteering). This qualification is meaningful in lots of different workplace industries and in education.

Course Content

Unit 8004-203 Developing Self Leadership and Resilience for Young People
provides an understanding of the self-leadership and resilence required by an individual.
Learners will be required to complete a portfolio to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the theory and practical application delivered in this programme – to put the skills and knwoledge learned into practice and self-reflection.

1. Understand the use of effective self-leadership to achieve identified goals

1.1 List the skills of self-leadership

1.2 Explain how effective self-leadership and resilience will help you achieve goal

2. Develop self-leadership skills

  • Set SMART personal objective(s) to achieve goals
  • List things that will either help you or prevent you from achieving your objective(s)
  • Show how you have motivated yourself to achieve your objective(s)
  • Use problem-solving skills to help you achieve objective(s)
  • Show resilience by coping in a positive way when things don’t go to plan
  • Show how you sought help from others when things didn’t go to plan

3. Reflect on self-leadership

3.1 Self-assess your performance in self-leadership and showing resilience

8004-200 – Developing Awareness of Equality and Diversity
To enable learners to develop their role to promote equality and diversity and the development of behaviours to support this. Throughout this unit, delegates wukk be required to complete a portfolio to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the topics/practical application, which allows learners to put the theory learned into practice and self reflect.1. Understand equality and diversity understand the use of effective self-leadership to achieve identified goals

1.1 Explain what is meant by ‘promoting equality’

1.2 Explain what is meant by ‘respecting diversity’

1.3 Explain why equality and diversity are important in your community

2. Understand how equality and diversity affects their community

  • Describe at least four different behaviours that should be combated as they lead to discrimination
  • Identify actions that individuals should take to promote equality and the valuing of diversity within their community

3. Reflect on awareness of equality and diversity

3.1 Self-assess your performance in promoting equality and valuing diversity

Assessments

Completion of student workbook for both units.
