Introduction

This course is designed to help you to increase your knowledge and understanding in key areas, such as environmental awareness, healthy living, managing personal finances, and team work. You will also be encouraged to look at your own skills and qualities in relation to those needed at work and to use this understanding to identify key personal information needed for a job application.

This programme will enable you to reflect on your personal development and recognise how your personal skills, abilities and behaviours may be improved. It will also increase awareness of your individual rights and responsibilities

Course Content

The course comprises of the following units:

  • Developing self (2 credits)
  • Dealing with problems in daily life (2 credits)
  • Environmental awareness (2 credits)
  • Healthy living (2 credits)
  • Individual rights and responsibilities (1 credits)
  • Managing own money (2 credits)
  • Preparation for work (2 credits)
  • Working as part of a group (2 credits)

Assessments

To achieve the certificate learners must complete eight units (minimum credit value 15 credits). The learning materials include an assessment, which allows learners to demonstrate achievement of all learning outcomes associated with each unit. Learners should complete the assessment remotely and submit it to their tutor for marking.

Progression

Learners will be able to further their own continuous professional development, which may improve their career prospects, or allow them to progress on to further qualifications with your chosen career pathway.
